'Penny Dreadful' Season 3 Spoilers: Premieres On May 1, Series Reveals Chandler’s Past, New Setting In American West?

Along with Ethan Chandler's (Josh Harnett) past, the character is expected to plunge himself into a new setting in "Penny Dreadful" season 3, as per latest spoilers.

According to Christian Post, Chandler will be the core of the upcoming episode of "Penny Dreadful" season 3. As per the publication, the character is going to be in a new environment, as he moves to the American West.

"Penny Dreadful" season 3 is reportedly filming in Spain, particularly in the city of Almeria. It is noted that the scenes and sequences that will be covered in the Spanish city will encompass the dark tone of the American West set in the 1800s.

As per Fashion And Style, Showtime took to Instagram a behind-the-scenes photo from the "Penny Dreadful" set and it suggests the possibility of having some flashbacks about Chandler's past. In caption, it is written "Trekking through the wild west wilderness (that's a mouthful) today in Almeria!"

Aside from Harnett as Chandler, "Penny Dreadful" will also star Wes Studi, who will play the role of Kaetnay, while Sarah green is set to reprise her role as Hecate. Reports also say that a new character will be introduced, along with the new setting of the series' season 3.

Fans are also set to see positive changes in the characters of "Penny Dreadful" season 3. In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, series executive producer John Logan said that the characters had found so much strength and grace with each other, as well as intimacy.

Logan also teased that such strength had been brought about by the closeness of their relationships. While the characters are set to be tougher in season 3, the executive producer also mentioned that some of them were alone, adding that they did not have their friends to turn to for support. This would question the manner they are going to function in the show, as well as how they are going to be brought back together.

"Penny Dreadful" is set to be premiered on May 1.
