Showtime has released "Penny Dreadful" season 3 trailer and it is menacing.

The new trailer of "Penny Dreadful" season 3 opens with Ethan Chandler, who has returned in New Mexico. As per his background, the said place is where he grew up and experience a werewolf attack. The succeeding sequences feature blood, murder, death, and haunting.

In line with Chandler's return to his hometown, how it affects him, the place, and the people around him, are yet to be revealed, according to Slash Film. As per the publication, presenting backstories is a common element see in "Penny Dreadful;" thus, it is assumed that its third season is going to be filled with backstories.

The supernatural elements are set to save Vanessa from trouble that she will be facing in "Penny Dreadful" season 3, according to Christian Post. It can be recalled in season 2 that Vanessa, Chandler, and Sir Malcolm had different paths, as per the publication.

"Penny Dreadful" season 3 stars Patti LuPone, who played the role of the Cut-Wife in season 2, and she is set to play the new role of Dr. Seward, an American therapist who uses an unconventional approach to treat Vanessa, who is played by Eva Green.

The series is also set to see Wes Studi play the role of Kaetenay, a intense and mysterious Native American who has a profound link to Chandler and becomes an alliance of Timothy Dalton's Sir Malcolm.

Other stars include Robert Louis Stevenson, who plays Dr. Henry Jekyll; Simon Russell Beale as Lyle; Christian Camargo as Dr. Alexander Sweet, a zoologist who becomes Vanessa's friend; Sam Barnett as Dr. Seward's enigmatic young secretary; Jessica Barden as Justine, a young acolyte to Dorian Gray and Lily; and Perdita Weeks as Catriona Hartdegan, a scholar with deep knowledge on the supernatural, among others
