Fans of 'Penny Dreadful', Showtime's dark mystery drama, will be excited to learn that the producers have released a new trailer video for the upcoming season of the show. While there is no official release date set for Season 2, it's speculated that new episodes will air sometime in 2015.

For those that may not know, the show is a powerful saga about a demimonde based world where evil spirits and immortal creatures mingle with the humans of reality. The show features Dorian Gray, a lonely man whose bane in life is his own immortality, Sir Malcolm Murray, an explorer looking for his daughter Mina, and Vanessa Ives, a composed heroine of untold strength.

Other complex characters include Ethan Chandler, Caliban, Brona Croft, Sembene, and Victor Frankenstein; every one of them has hidden secrets and otherworldly traits.

At the end of Season 1, love has made a mess of Dorian, Vanessa, and Caliban. However, the Season 2 trailer has finally arrived, baffling fans more than it can answer questions. In the 30-second teaser, Vanessa's eerie voice tells viewers that "a curse is also something of a blessing."

But in the ensuing scenes, we are transported into a creepy, dangerous world of mayhem. Hints of Caliban's future love appearing from the waters in Frankenstein's laboratory are displayed, but only for a second. We are treated to a dark glimpse of Vanessa struggling with the demon she had revealed to still be inside of her at the end of the season one finale.

Dorian is shown looking at a picture of Vanessa, and despite her rejection of him, he is still very much in love with her. Will his desire for her play towards a dangerous drama in the upcoming episodes?

In the demimonde world of 'Penny Dreadful', we can never really know what will happen next, but evidently, the new and upcoming Season 2 episodes will surely provide some answers.
