‘Penny Dreadful’ Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Series Returns on April 26, 2015

'Penny Dreadful' the hit fantasy series of Season 1 is back with an even heavier cast and plot, reports claim. Just recently, the hit TV series released its trailer and it is explosive. Fans cannot wait to finally see the first episode of Season 2 which premieres on April 26, 2015.

In the recently released trailer for the upcoming second season of the show, it is quite noticeable that three new monsters, the bride of frankenstein, the blood countess, and the phantom of the opera will be coming in and entertain the audience once more.

In a previous interview of series creator John Logan with Den of Geek, he revealed that season two is bigger and more exciting. "Season one sort of put the pieces on the board and [they became] a family when brought together," Logan said, "Season one is a very limited story. In season two we go much larger in terms of the theology, the villains, and I'm really excited about it."

So everything is apparently upgraded, in every aspect of the show. "Not in season two," Logan said adding, "We go elsewhere in season two. But not to the Old World Transylvania." Meanwhile, as the previous season housed big time actors like Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Billie Piper, and Timothy Dalton, it is however still unknown who the show will take in this time, but it is speculated that it will not go cheap.

Not only that, there will be more monsters than ever. Even Hartnett was reported to be transforming into a full wolf man. Meanwhile, Logan also previously talked about his views on Mary Shelley's work which several are speculating that it will be included in season two.

"I thought The Island of Dr. Moreau was a very important work because of the variations it does on Mary Shelley's work," Logan said, "And Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is one of the classic texts that looks at Victorian society and how it's manifested in monstrousness."
