'Peanuts' Movie Release Date, New Trailer: Promo Teaser Showcases Classic Comic Strip Characters [VIDEO]
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang are set to appear on the big screen in a new and upcoming 3D feature film entitled 'Peanuts'.
'Peanuts' is the first CG-animated film based on the comic strip by Charles Schulz from 1950-2000.
The comic was read daily by 355 million people in 75 countries and the TV specials won an Emmy award and is considered to be one of the highest rated shows.
The animated comedy movie is produced by Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox and costs $100 million to create while the story is written by Schulz's son Craig and Bryan. "Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie" is the actual title of the film, however, the comic's huge fan base is expected to shorten it to "Peanuts," according to Tech Times.
The trailer published on YouTube showed Snoopy sleeping on top of his dog house and Woodstock leading a group to put Christmas decorations around the house. Snoopy wakes up and is seen traveling in the air across Paris. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown is inside a cinema dropping a bag of popcorn and delivers his famous line "good grief".
The rest of the cast cannot be seen in the clip, but Linus and Lucy make an appearance. On a side note, the first trailer has gained over 100,000 views.
In the synopsis of the film, Snoopy and his team go on a mission to fight his arch-nemesis while Charlie Brown is in his own adventure at home.
Meanwhile, the film released its teaser poster on Wednesday in time for Schulz birthday featuring Snoopy and Woodstock sleeping on top of the famous red doghouse.
'Peanuts' is directed by Steve Martino and is set to release on the 65th anniversary of the comic strip and 50th anniversary of 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' TV special, on Nov. 6, 2015.
