'Parks and Recreation' Season 7 Premiere Recap: The Year 2017 in Pawnee
"Parks and Recreation" Season 7 premiere takes viewers to the year 2017 as the first episode is aptly titled "2017."
Even in 2017 Leslie Knope is still her ambitious self complete with a new fringed hairstyle. She became the head of the Pawnee office of the National Parks Service and she is tasked to manage more than 1,200 employees. Leslie planned to work until she is 100-years-old.
Amidst her successful career, Leslie held a grudge for a man that "fills her with rage." Apparently, Leslie and Ron Swanson had a falling out but the cause is not yet revealed. Now, the public servant branded her former friend "a stupid garbage-head doody face."
Ron has resigned from the Parks Department two years ago and he started his own company Very Good Building and Development Company. In line with this, Ron is out to help the start-up company Gryzzl to build a new school on the Newport land. The guy from Gryzzl described Ron as "so far out, so normcore."
Ron and Leslie's misunderstanding heated up since the latter also wants the Newport land so she can develop it into a national park. Leslie tried to work with Jessica Wicks from Sweetums Foundation in order to win the bid.
Ben Wyatt is supposed to receive the Pawnee's Man of the Year award but things went messy when Leslie and Ron got into a fight. They threw each other into the cake and even lit a statue of Ben on fire.
Andy Dwyer watched the whole scenario without doing anything. Andy and his wife April Ludgate are concerned that they "became boring." Andy starred in his own TV show, which is "The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show" while April continued to work for Leslie as purchaser of renters' insurance.
Tom Haverford became mogul but his fashion style is still the same. He developed four eateries and the most special is the Tommy Chopper, which serves salads from a helicopter.
Back to the bidding, Leslie decided not offer any amount but promised the Newports that she would name the park after them. Before the episode ended, Leslie declared that it is time for war. She even prepared cookies that say "prepare for war" and warned that Ron cannot eat them.
Fans can watch the farewell season of "Parks and Recreation" every Tuesdays at 8/7 c on NBC.
