'PaRappa The Rapper 2' Release Date, News: PaRappa The Puppy Hits PS4
PlayStation 2 rhythm video game "PaRappa the Rapper 2" is coming to PlayStation 4 this week.
According to Sony's PlayStation Blocgcast, the game would be accessible to PlayStation 4 owners on Dec. 15. The availability of the rhythm video game to the fourth PlayStation platform roots from Sony's PlayStation 2 iteration.
After its release on PS2 nearly 15 years from now, "PaRappa the Rapper 2" was not quite as an achiever as the PSOne original due to its short marketing time, according to Video Gamer.
"PaRappa the Rapper 2" serves as a sequel to "PaRappa the Rapper" and the third game in the series after "UmJammer Lammy." It centers on PaRappa, the rapping puppy. He and his friends are set on a mission, which involves preventing everything from becoming noodles. Its game play mirrors its predecessor's and it has eight stages.
In the original "PaRappa", the teacher will give a line of rap for PaRappa to either repeat or improvise. Messing up the line twice in a row entails a drop of rank from Good to Bad and to Awful. Inversely, performing well twice in a row will boost the player's rank. Players lose the stage if they go below Awful or complete the stage in a Bad or Awful rank.
"PaRappa 2," on the other hand, has also had some changes in mechanics. Upon dropping a rank, the teacher will say "Getting Worse," with the song going back two lines and altering the lines at times to make them easier. Performing well twice a row will bring up the rank to Cool, in which the teacher allows PaRappa to do freestyle and unlock music tracks available to listen in a music player at the end of the game.
Aside from "PaRappa the Rapper 2," other games coming to the PS4 include "Twisted Metal: Black," "Fantavision," "War of the Monsters," "Rogue Galaxy," "Dark Cloud," "Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits," "The Mark of Kri," "Grand Theft Auto XII," "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," and "Grand Theft Auto Vice City."
With "PaRaappa the Rapper 2," the PS4 is assumed to expand its arsenal to provide players a more diverse gaming experience.
