Paolo Bediones Video Scandal: Philippines TV News Anchor To Remain on Air

It's usually A-List celebrities that make headline news when involved in scandals, but this time around a man you'd least expect has recently been the target of rumor. Paolo Bediones, a beloved TV anchor from a Philippines news channel, has been pegged with an alleged video showing him being intimate with a girl in seven minute long video.

Shock and disbelief were the first reactions to the video from fans and many questions arose on its legitimacy. The video seemed to be from several years ago and had supposedly starred the TV anchor. While many wondered if Bediones would survive the scandal, the anchor appeared on air as he always does on the Monday night news.

He did not make a mention of the video directly on air, but he did post some comments on Facebook that were directed toward the alleged scandal.

"I am truly blessed to have a family like mine. Solid friends around me and supporters who are there no matter what. Overwhelming love," he posted, accompanied by a snap of himself getting ready for the newscast, "Life goes on. On air in a bit," he added.

TV5 also had many questions whether it would choose to fire its favorite employee. However, their statement said, 'We accord our employees and talents all respect that are due them for their privacy and personal action or decision. We disapprove strongly the malicious and wanton publication of the video, an act that clearly violates pertinent cyber-crime laws,'

"We firmly express our support for our anchor Paolo Bediones in the face of a controversy that represents nothing more than an attempt to smear his reputation." the network said in defense of Bediones
