‘Pan’ Official Movie Trailer Video: First Glimpse of Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Levi Miller as Peter Pan [WATCH]
Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for their upcoming 2015 film 'Pan', which offered a sneak peek into the cast for their retelling of the story of Peter Pan.
'Pan' is an upcoming film based on the original Peter Pan lore written by J.M. Barrie. It is directed by Joe Wright and written by Jason Fuchs. It is set to be released on July 17, 2015, but has now released its official movie trailer.
In the trailer, fans and interested moviegoers were given a glimpse of London in its earlier years. The story revolves around the young troublemaker Peter, whose mother gave him up to the orphanage and left him with a letter that did little to explain why she disappeared. It only said that she would one day see him again, maybe not in his world, but in another.
One night, Peter and some of the boys ended up getting kidnapped by a flying pirate ship and taken to a mysterious new world. It was there that Peter ended up as "The Pan," the name given to the greatest warrior in this strange world called Neverland.
On his journey, Peter met the likes of Blackbeard, the pirate that ruled this strange new world; Tiger Lily; Hook, and many more.
Other than the trailer, character posters for its leads have also been released by Warner Bros. Fans will be able to see Levi Miller as Peter Pan, Hugh Jackman as the pirate Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as a young Hook and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily.
Wright's main goal for the film is to appeal to children, according to a statement he made to Cinema Blend. The director said that he added a lot of action, humor and heart into the film. As a father, he wanted to entertain and appeal to the younger generation, just like he would for his son.
Other actors appearing in the film are Amanda Seyfried as Peter's mother, Cara Delevingne as a mermaid, Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy Darling, Adeel Akhtar as Smee and more.
