'Pan' Movie Release Date, Cast News: Warner Bros. Launches Official Trailer, Film Premieres July 17, 2015 [VIDEO]
Last week, Warner Bros. took to the Internet to release the first official trailer of the upcoming fantasy movie 'Pan', a star-studded adaptation of the magical Neverland story featuring Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara, and supermodel Cara Delevingne.
Recently, Cara Delevinge, the 22-year-old supermodel who is gradually shifting to the big screen, expressed her excitement over her role in the film on Instagram. Latin Post quotes Delevingne telling her fans, "Mermazing! So excited for you to see the Pan trailer! It's gonna be a wonderful movie."
In August this year, Delevingne also gave her fans a glimpse of some behind-the-scenes pictures and videos via her Vine and Instagram accounts.
Meanwhile, the website quotes an insider from The Sun on Sunday saying, "It's a massive role for Cara to land considering she is a relatively unknown actress... However, she is perfect to play a mermaid as she has a body to die for and is very glamorous on screen. Cara is no stranger to being in next to nothing thanks to modelling so it's unlikely she'll feel self-conscious while shooting."
The source further said, "It will be quite a demanding role as there will be a lot of underwater work and stunts," adding, "Filming underwater could scare a lot of actresses but Cara is definitely up for the challenge."
Apart from the newcomers like Delevingne, the movie also boasts big name stars like Hugh Jackman, who plays the role of a pirate. However, he will not appear as Captain Hook in the film.
Instead, fans will see the actor in the role of fierce Pirate Blackbeard. In fact, the physical transformation for his character in the movie will surely stun many of his fans.
The titular role of a WWII orphan is played by the young actor Levi Miller who is kidnapped by Blackbeard's crew from the Lambeth Home for Boys. The pirate's crew takes the orphan to Neverland on a magical flying ship.
The other cast members include Rooney Mara, who portrays the character of the Native American princess Tiger Lily, while Amanda Seyfried portrays the character of Mary, a mystifying woman who abandoned Peter, just leaving behind a letter that is the sole clue to his past.
The letter reads, "My dearest Peter, I long for the day that I can come back to you and explain everything. You are extraordinary, more than you can imagine. I promise that you will see me again in this world or another."
The film is being directed by Joe Wright, who has worked on films like 'Pride & Prejudice' and 'Hanna'. In fact, the movie is based on the Peter Pan story, but the storyline goes further than the 1911 original novel by J. M. Barrie.
'Pan' is scheduled to release on July 17, 2015 in the theaters across the U.S. and the U.K.
