'Overwatch' News Update: Title Hits Gaming Sales Records

New details on the patch for Blizzard Entertainment's "Overwatch" have surfaced. Also, analysts have revealed that the title gathered huge amount of sales last month.

"Overwatch's" public test region is now accessible, Play Overwatch has learned. According to the publication, the patch is not in development and can be tested on the Public Test Region. It is revealed that i order to participate in the public test, the player must have an "Overwatch" game license for Windows PC linked to Battle.net account; the license should also have a good standing, which means it should not be suspended or banned.

Players with accounts coming from all regions, barring China, are eligible to take part in the Public Test Region; but then, the event is set to be hosted in the United States region. This implies that players who consider playing the Public Test region from a location outside the United States should expect decreased gaming performance and higher latency rate.

With regard the number of players, it is revealed that the Public Test Region can only handle 10,000 concurrent players, or players who are logged into the even at the same time. It is revealed that new players who want to log in to the PTR will be placed into a queue if the cap has been reached.

As per the publication, digital research company Superdata revealed that Blizzard Entertainment's title managed to obtain approximately $269 million in digital revenue across all gaming platforms in the month of May. It is further revealed that the title ranked first on Microsoft Windows and fifth on consoles, eight days following its release.

Playable on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows, "Overwatch" was released on May 24.
