‘Outlast 2’ News: Red Barrels’ Title Pushes Back Release Date To Next Year

New details have surfaced for Red Barrels Studio's "Outlast 2" and reports revealed that the title is not yet set to come out this year.

"Outlast 2" has been delayed to the first quarter of 2017, Red Barrel announced on its Facebook page on Aug. 1. In a statement, the studio said that they had had to make a tough decision and after weighing their choices, they had decided to postpone the title's release until next year's initial quarter.

As per Red Barrel, they wanted fans to know that they listened to their feedback and they saw the latter's excitement. The studio continued to explain that their mission as an indie studio was to deliver gamers the best, most terrifying, and most fulfilling gaming experience possible.

To accomplish such goal, Red Barrel opted to take more time to ensure that their vision for "Outlast" was not compromised, enabling them to give the experience fans deserve.

According to IGN, fans can expect the game to be highly terrifying. As per the publication, the crew had the chance to play the title during the PAX East 2016 and some editors tested the game's build to check how horrifying it was.

"Outlast 2" is Red Barrels' first person survival horror video game and sequel to the studio's "Outlast" in 2013. Set in the same realm as its predecessor, "Outlast 2" is set to showcase various characters in a dynamic setting and players are set to assume the role of Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn. Both are journalists who want to take risks and unveil stories others do not want to handle.

Overall, Red Barrels' "Outlast 2" is set to be released for Xbox One, PLayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS in early 2017.
