'Outlander' Season 2 Cast: Roger Wakefield Is Now Scotsman Richard Rankin
Roger Wakefield is all grown up in "Outlander" Season 2 and he is set to be played by Scottish actor Richard Rankin, Starz announced on Dec. 14.
Rankin will play the smart, compassionate, and charming lad whose parents went missing when he was still a boy. Now an Oxford professor, Rankin's character exhibits a strong interest in history, and may just uncover the subject's mind-blowing secrets, including the possibility that his parents may still be alive and may have accidentally time-traveled.
Rogers plays a pivotal role in the lives of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) as the couple continues to travel through history's momentous events, reports Variety.
Prior to his new project, Rankin starred in BBC One's "Fallen Angels." His recent small screen projects include "From Darkness," "American Odyssey," and "The Crimson Field."
The Scottish actor also starred in the 2014 movie "The House of Him." He rose to fame by snagging roles in Scottish television show, reports Daily Record.
"Outlander" Season 2 opens with Claire and Jamie arriving in France to infiltrate the Jacobite rebellion led by Prince Charles Stuart. With the help of Jamie's cousin Jared, the pair successfully gets into the rich world of the French Society.
Parties, intrigues, and politics are set to get in the way of the team, who will use their knowledge of history to turn things upside down.
The collaboration between Starz and Sony Pictures will make its TV screen comeback in the spring of 2016 and will be produced by Ronald D. Moore.
