OS X Yosemite New Update Failed to Resolve Problems with Wi-Fi Connections
Even though the first update of OS X Yosemite was released two weeks ago, the Wi-Fi issues that have been reported by users remain to be problematic.
Since the release of OS X Yosemite in mid-October, devices updated to the OS have encountered problems such as slow Wi-Fi connections. Apple released X Yosemite 10.10.1 to resolve the issues, however, no improvement was reported.
A discussion entitled "OS X Yosemite Wi-Fi Issues" in Apple's support page has 1,330 comments and almost 259,000 views.
More specifically complaints related to playing videos on the Internet are the heart of the matter. Users encounter an error message or the browser crashes while watching online videos. Some went ahead and assumed that YouTube was having an issue, but that's not the case.
Other users see black screens when attempting to play a video or the loading takes too much time. YouTube videos are problematic on Safari, but accessible in Google Chrome or Firefox.
One user expressed on the forum that after updating to 10.10.1, the computer's Bluetooth, Keychain and connectivity to Apple gadgets stopped working.
Meanwhile, a bug has been reported in any computers' Shared Systems that's upgraded to the 10.10.1. The shared name in the device's Sharing System Preferences pane alters without the user's involvement. The original name may start as "My Macbook," and after a few minutes, it becomes "My Macbook 1."
Not all Macbooks are affected and the cause is not yet discovered. Renaming can be done, however, the uncontrolled changing of titles starts again.
Some suggested resolutions on the forum are resetting PRAM, and clearing cookies and cache, but no troubleshoot has been entirely effective. Resetting Wi-Fi networks is also not helpful as well.
The company has not addressed the issues formally as of this time. Apple suggested that users remove excess networks by clicking System Preferences, choosing the Network Section and resetting the System Management Controller.
On that note, the multinational corporation has released Yosemite's second update, which is 10.10.2 beta last week to fix the reported problems, but again, the issues remain unresolved.
