'Orange Is The New Black' Season 5 Release Date, Cast News: Daya Suffers From Postpartum Depression?

Following a sinister fourth season, "Orange is the New Black" is set to return for its fifth season next year to provide answers to the questions left by the previous season.

The explosive finale of season 4 left the fate of many characters up in the air, especially after the death of Pousey.

Just recently, some members of the "Orange is the New Black" cast gave some hints as to what is in store for their characters in season 5.

In the previous season, Daya was last seen holding Humphreys in hostage. Apparently, her mother had just been released from prison and she was unfortunate to have been easily influenced by bad company. Next season, viewers of the series will know if she will let peer pressure direct her ways or if she will think about her child and choose to change for the better.

Daya portrayer Dasha Polanco recently revealed in an interview some of the things that viewers should expect from her character next season. According to the actress, the reason behind Daya's unpredictability is her postpartum depression.

"I could see her pulling the trigger. Daya's definitely experiencing postpartum depression. She might pull back and think about being a mother and not wanting to miss the opportunity of being with her child. But a woman going through postpartum-- at that point, they're very fragile and very sensitive," she said.

As for Taystee, she said she was the most affected by Pousey's death and she is up for revenge.

"It's war. Taystee has nothing to lose; she's lost everything that she cared so deeply about. It's time to fight. I think that's where we will see Taystee go," she revealed.

Meanwhile, some reports claim that George Mendez, Bayley, and John Bennet might return to the cast next season.

"Orange is the New Black" season 5 is set to release sometime in June 2017.
