'Orange Is The New Black' Season 4 Release Date, Cast, Spoilers: New Inmates Add Tension? [TRAILER]
The premiere of "Orange is the New Black" season 4 has been announced by Netflix.
According to Us Magazine, a series episodes of the show were released on January 17. However, the official premiere date is scheduled to take place on June 17.
Us Magazine reports that a teaser of "Orange is the New Black" shows considerable changes in the TV show's characters.
Cast member, Natasha Lyonne described these changes, saying, "It's just like the Hamptons, only horrible."
"Orange is the New Black" tells the experiences of women being in a security federal prison. Cast members include Taylor Schilling (Piper), Uzo Aduba (Crazy Eyes), Laura Prepon (Alex), Kate Mulgrew (Red) and Laverne Cox (Sophia).
The footage of "Orange is the New Black" season 4 has been made available, to coincide with 2016's Oscar awards ceremony, as reported by Cinema Blend, and prison overcrowding is a major problem to be dealt with in season 4.
In an interview with Vogue, cast member Danielle Brooks (Taystee) described the prison overcrowding problem, saying, "The prison is becoming overpopulated. All the new inmates really add more tension, and believe me, it is tense." As reported in iDigital Times, Brooks added, "This season really drops in a totally different way."
Meanwhile, Laverne Cox (Sophia Burset) shared some insights as to how "Orange is the New Black" depicts the real life problems in criminal justice. As written in an article in iDigital Times, she said in an interview with Ryan Seacrest from E! News:
"Our brilliant creator Jenji Kohan has this amazing vision. We just finished shooting season four and we're going deeper into the issues of these women and the criminal justice system and it's getting even more real if you can believe it."
