'Orange Is The New Black' Season 4 News, Spoilers: Forthcoming Season Will Be Darker?; Taylor Schilling’s Character Liberated?
Along with talks on Laura Prepon's come back and Taylor Schilling's liberating character in "Orange Is The New Black" season 4, it is revealed that the forthcoming season is set to be darker.
Kate Mulgrew, who plays Galina "Red" Reznikov in the hit series "Orange Is The New Black" season 4, revealed that the upcoming season is bound to be darker. In a statement at a Netflix event in Paris on Apr. 11 (via iDigital Spy), the actress said that the series got darker and it has got very dark.
According to Mulgrew, there was a lot of laughs, but one must buckle his seatbelt, because she took some very interesting turns. For the actress, fans would be very surprised and would be wholeheartedly engaged, adding that they would be riveted.
In February, "Orange Is The New Black" was renewed for a fourth season. In line with this, Mulgrew said that it was a great pleasure, adding that she loved that part, that process, and Jenji Kohan. For the actress, it was great to look forward to more seasons
In other news, Prepon revealed that her character Alex Vause is set to have more opportunities in "Orange Is The New Black" season 4. In an interview with Melty, the actress also said that she could not give away any spoilers, adding that nothing was taboo for show writer and creator Kohan in terms on how it had been written.
"We go there and push the envelope. It's just so awesome," she said.
Aside from the come back of Prepon's Vause, series co-actor Schilling also revealed that her character Piper Chapman is set to be liberating. In her interview with People, she said that it was very liberating to play a character who did not wear makeup, adding that it knocked away one level of artifice and that was what she appreciated most about acting.
According to Schilling, it did take time to get Chapman ready and it took far more make up than one would imagine for her to look like she was wearing absolutely no makeup.
"Orange Is The New Black" season 4 is set to air on June 17 on Netflix.
