'Orange Is the New Black' Season 3 Release Date News: Netflix Will Make All 12 Episodes Available on June 12

Netflix has announced that it will release the entire 12 episodes of the comedy drama television series 'Orange Is the New Black' Season 3 this week, promising new prison dramas, as the inmates return to the Litchfield Penitentiary. While the online streaming service giant had earlier announced that the series will be available on Friday, June 12, it did not reveal the precise time when viewers will be able to download the episodes of the new series.

As for the storyline of the 'Orange Is the New Black' Season 3, Christian Today reports that fans will see Alex (Laura Prepon) back in prison after being successful in obtaining an early release in Season 2 by double-crossing her former girlfriend Piper (Taylor Schilling). Now it remains to be seen if Alex realizes that Piper was responsible to bringing her back behind bars.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Prepon disclosed that her character Alex will find it difficult to accept the fact that she will again be spending time behind bars following her brief taste of freedom. Prepon also shared that Alex feels "broken," and will be very unusual in the upcoming season, as she feels that she is a total letdown as a result of her return.

While Prepon said that Alex is not aware that it was Piper who encouraged Polly (Maria Dizzia) to squeal to her probation officer regarding Alex possessing a gun, the actress is still of the view that deep inside her character is aware that her ex-lover may possibly be the reason for her re-arrest.

She told the publication, "I feel like she might know, but doesn't actually want to believe that Piper would go so far as to ruin her life and get her back in prison. I think that's even beyond what Alex can comprehend of something that Piper could do."

In the meantime, in an interview with The Express UK, actress Yael Stone revealed what the entire 'Orange Is the New Black' Season 3 is about. According to Stone, who plays the role of inmate Lorna Morello, Kenji Kohan's comedy-drama Season 3 revolves around the individual inspirations of each inmate of Litchfield prison to get a move on when they are at their lives' lowest points.

All the 12 episodes of the 'Orange Is the New Black' Season 3 will be made available by Netflix on Friday, June 12.
