'Orange Is The New Black' Season 3 Release Date, Cast Rumors: Netflix Spoilers Confirm Lorraine Toussaint Leaving OITNB in 2015
Recently, Netflix confirmed to Buzzfeed that actress Lorraine Toussaint will not be returning for 'Orange Is The New Black' Season 3 when it returns for its Netflix premiere in 2015.
This means that fans will be missing the biggest bully of Litchfield in the upcoming season of the show. The confirmation from Netflix came in the wake of some media reports claiming the opposite, saying that Toussaint might be returning to the series.
In the 'Orange Is The New Black' Season 2 finale, viewers saw Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) being run over by a fellow runaway Rosa (Barbara Rosenblat) in a vehicle.
On that note, fans of the series were left with questions as to whether or not Vee survived the incident. Vee, being the main antagonist in the series, might have just been written out of the show in that fashion.
Beyond all that, another entertainment website, TMZ, has apparently confirmed the opposite. Supposedly, Toussaint will be returning to 'Orange Is The New Black' for Season 3.
The report published by the website claims that the actress was seen returning for filming in New York recently. While her characer in the series is no longer alive, that doesn't mean that the Vee cannot appear on screen as there's always flashbacks to fall back on.
While talking to E! News at the 2014 Emmy Awards, Toussaint herself seconded the idea, teasing, "I believe she's dead. She's dead. And she's such a survivor, it wouldn't surprise me - I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't dead because I don't have much control over her...she's pretty dead...but it is Vee."
In addition to Toussaint, another OITNB character is rumored to be absent in the show's third season. Pablo Schreiber's character, Pornstache, might not appear when the series returns on Netflix next year.
However, Schreiber said, "Generally speaking, I get to be present in both shows, which is sort of amazing. I am allowed to do both, which is incredible and I think ABC giving me permission to do that is really quite wonderful... It's too early to tell how it's going to work, but same way as Pablo Schreiber in Season 2, you can shoot things out of order. Thankfully, I get to do both."
As it stands, there's a chance that his character will appear when Season 3 of 'Orange Is The New Black' returns to the air. There is no specific release date scheduled yet but most rumors claim a summer 2015 Netflix premiere is likely. Filming started in early in June and will finish by the end of 2014.
