'Orange Is The New Black' Cast News: Actress Ruby Rose Explains Being 'Gender Fluid'

Actress/model Ruby Rose has become quite the topic of interest ever since her breakout role on the third season of 'Orange is the New Black.'

In the show, she plays the sexually-ambiguous character Stella Carlin, a love interest of main character Piper Chapman, and an overall mysterious presence in Litchfield Prison.

With the recent attention her character has received, along with herself, fans are all curious to how Rose identifies herself gender-wise, in which she responds in an interview with Elle Magazine:

"For the most party, I definitely don't identify as any gender. I'm not a guy; I don't really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So, I'm somewhere in the middle, which-in my perfect imagination-is like having the best of both sexes."

She goes on to explain her idea of gender fluidity:

"Gender fluidity is not really feeling like you're at one end of the spectrum or the other. For the most part, I definitely don't identify as any gender. I'm not a guy; I don't really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So, I'm somewhere in the middle, which - in my perfect imagination - is like having the best of both sexes. I have a lot of characteristics that would normally be present in a guy and then less that would be present in a woman. But then sometimes I'll put on a skirt - like today."

The Australian born talent speaks on expanding her fashion line with her partner Phoebe Dahl. She states:

"I'm teaming up with World Vision to go on a trip in September, but I don't know where. Originally, we had that set to be in Africa. Then, the earthquakes in Nepal happened. I'm hoping it's still potentially the right time to go there. Phoebe and I together have a clothing range called Scallywags that we're launching in about a week that's a gender fluid, gender neutral brand."
