Chinese tech firm Oppo Electronics Corp. is betting largely on its upcoming smartphone R7, which is scheduled for release on May 20. The company has released teasers indicating that a competitive smartphone is in the works.

According to IB Times, following several rumors and speculation regarding the design and display of the anticipated handset, the Dongguan-based Chinese electronics manufacturer has finally confirmed in a new teaser that the upcoming R7 will come with a premium metal finishing. According to Phandroid, the metal casing of the device will undergo 48 polishing processes for genuine metal tone.

With the use of metal in creating the R7 smartphone, Oppo is expecting to target the premium smartphone market. The upcoming smartphone from Oppo will also incorporate a number of exceptional features like 2.5D curved glass top with a view to enhance the overall look as well as comfort while holding the device in the hand.
