'Open Heart' TV Series Release Date: New Teen Drama Premieres in January
This January on television a heart-gripping mystery series will launch into the lives of millions of drama fans called 'Open Heart', by Epitome pictures. 'Open Heart' features the young, strong-minded daughter of a family of doctors who is investigating the mysterious disappearance of her father.
When 16-year-old Dylan Blake is forced to volunteer at the Open Heart Memorial, the hospital where her father was last seen alive, Dylan and her friends begin a covert operation. Our delinquent heroine believes there is something strange about her father, Richard, simply vanishing into thin air, and she is determined to prove that Richard's absence is no regular case of abandonment.
Jamie Piekarz, the Director of Content, Corus Kids, applauds the mystery series as a perfect show that can speak to teens in the way that similar high-stakes dramas speak to adults.
"'Open Heart' offers our teen fans a thrilling story to tune into every week with the added bonus of taking viewers beyond each episode and into Dylan's world through engaging digital content," said Piekarz in a statement.
The show stars Karis Cameron as Dylan Blake, a newcomer to the acting world of television. However, she is known for her parts in 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' and 'The Haunting Hour'. Some other big names include Tori Anderson from 'Warehouse 13', Justin Kelly from 'Degrassi' and 'Lost Girl', and Cristine Prosperi from 'Degrassi'.
In addition to the flawless cast, Ramona Barckert, the executive producer, show-runner and writer, is excited about how the drama will be aired, she said "No waiting between episodes for more content - the 'Open Heart' experience happens all week long. I've never seen anything like this before. It's really cool!"
