OnePlus One Latest News: Chinese Tech Titan to Cut Smartphone Price on June 1
When the Chinese tech titan OnePlus launched its maiden flagship handset OnePlus One in 2014, there was a big splash in the smartphone market. The device boasted most features of other smartphones in the market, but was available at nearly half the price of its competitors.
According to Tech Radar, tech experts and enthusiasts are of the view that the company is gearing to offer a bigger surprise when it launches the successor of the device soon.
According to reports, the new smartphone will be named OnePlus Two. Moreover, since quite sometime, the tech manufacturer has been teasing the launch date of OnePlus Two as June 1. While tech enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to see what the company has in store for them, a latest report suggested that OnePlus may possibly revise the price of OnePlus One on June 1.
According to this report, as of now, it is expected that come Monday, and the company will cut the price of OnePlus One by $50. Currently, the retail price of the 64GB variant of OnePlus One is $348, and the device may be available for $298 following the price cut. Similarly, the new price of the 16GB variant is expected to be $248.
Nevertheless, the report maintains that there will be no change in the price of the smartphone's variants in all markets, especially India. In fact, the company has already been passing various discounts and price counts to consumers in India, keeping in view that this is a very price sensitive market. Nevertheless, it can be hoped that in the long run, OnePlus One will get a price revision in India too.
