OnePlus Gaming Device Rumors: New Promotional Images Give Rise to Speculation

Recent news that OnePlus would make an announcement in April gave rise to speculations that the Chinese tech manufacturer would release further details regarding its highly-anticipated smartphone - OnePlus Two. However, the promotional images of the handset released by the company on its forums said that the device would come some time later in 2014. As of now, it appears that OnePlus is prepping for the launch of a gaming device.

Christian Today reports that OnePlus is purportedly expanding its product portfolio by launching a device that is absolutely new to the company's existing product line. The promo photographs released by OnePlus recently invites users to "start a new game." The photo has a big red button dazzling at the center; something like the start of "#OneGameChanger" is just one push away.

Yet another photograph displays a pair of hands that appear to be holding a make-believe game controller. This photograph comes along with a caption reading "you're in control."

According to the report, even the last promotional image recently released by OnePlus suggests that the upcoming device will be something related to entertainment, since it carries the OnePlus logo etched in radiant red lights and accompanied by the slogan saying, "for the fun of it."

All these suggest that a new gaming device from OnePlus is in the making. However, what it will exactly be remains to be seen. Various speculations are making the rounds since the Chinese tech manufacturer released these promotional images. While some guess that it will be a portable gaming handset or a controller that will be compatible with OnePlus smartphones facilitating better gaming, there are others that say OnePlus may possibly be working on some type of Android console akin to the OUYA.

It is expected that further details regarding the "game-changing" device will be available soon. As of now, patrons of OnePlus can wait for Android 5.0 Lollipop CM12S and OxygenOS. The update for the OxygenOS will arrive on March 27, while the former will get it later this month.
