OnePlus 3 News, Specs: New Update Brings More Trouble Than Worth?
The news surrounding the OnePlus 3 software update is not very good, not by a long shot.
According to Android Authority, while the OxygenOS 3.2.4 patch actually resolved the customer complaint about the auto-restart, as well as problems about the quality of the voice calls, it creates more problems in the process.
Also the patch, with download size of around 26 MB, did not even fix the auto-focus problem on the front snapper. In addition, the Android Pay is all but useless and the Doze still messes up the notification.
Now, according to news reports, the LTE in OnePlus 3 has become problematic because of the update as customers noticed that they've been dropped from 4G to 2G.
There's actually a way to solve this, and that is to lock the LTE by entering the code *#*#4636#*#*, choosing the network type on the Phone information and choosing LTE only. However, Android Authority warned that this doesn't work on all devices.
Meanwhile, GSM Arena described the update as a "Trojan Horse," in a sense that customers thought that they are installing a patch that will solve their problems, but end up causing more problems instead.
It also reported that the OnePlus website has a thread in its own forum where every recommendation on the bug fixes and all the other problems are sorted out. Apparently, the article noted, OnePlus 3 is still exposed to "quadrooter" vulnerability.
Watch out for more news on the OnePlus 3 software update, which hopefully will come out sooner than later.
