OnePlus 2 Specs Speculations: New Promo Clip Suggests Device is Smaller than Predecessor [VIDEO]
For quite sometime now, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has been trying to create hype around its upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 2, which was revealed at a virtual reality event in July 27. However, now it has slowed down the campaign, but released a promo video showing a fan of 'One Plus' being over-enthusiastic over the upcoming device.
A report in Christian Today states that the video (check it out below) shows the fan claiming to have seen as well as used OnePlus 2, describing the flagship as "awesome" no less than four times, detailing the features that he liked about the, but every time he tries to describe the specifications, he gets bleeped.
However, the fan does succeed in saying that the upcoming device is "way more comfortable" to grip, which, according to him, is because OnePlus added something but kept another. Meanwhile, Techno Buffalo reported that this may possibly denote that the OnePlus 2 may be somewhat curvier compared to its predecessor.
Offering more hints regarding the appearance of the device, OnePlus recently posted a photo of a yet to be seen OnePlus 2 beneath the OnePlus One on Reddit, suggesting that the original OnePlus flagship, which has a 5.5-inch display, will be bigger than its successor. However, the battery unit of OnePlus 2 is comparatively bigger than its predecessor. While the new smartphone will house a 3300 mAh battery unit, its predecessor came with a 3100 mAh unit.
GSM Arena reports that the OnePlus 2 will be available in three models, which may possibly be dubbed as A2001, A2003 and A2005. While the first model will only be released in China, the second one is likely to be for North America. The third model will be for the European and Asian markets.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that the company will unveil the OnePlus 2 at a special virtual reality event and the tech firm will also be releasing an Android app for fans can tune in and wait for the announcement with or without VR.
According to some recent reports, the OnePlus 2 will sport a dual-lens camera. Mobipicker stated via a leak that the flagship smartphone will come with a 5.5-inch display, a 16 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel front-facing snapper and the storage space at 64GB.
