OnePlus 2 Launch News, Specs Rumors: Release Date Pushed Back to 2015's Third Quarter
Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has reportedly delayed the launch of its upcoming flagship device, the OnePlus Two, from the second quarter of this year to the third quarter of 2015. It seems that the tech titan is faced with bottlenecking in its production line.
Forbes claims that the issues related to Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, which debuted in the LG G Flex 2, are responsible for the delay.
The report further stated that similar to Samsung, OnePlus Tech is also waiting for the processor related problems to be over before announcing the release date of its upcoming smartphone. However, the problems of Samsung and the Shenzen-based tech firm are different. Samsung is reported to have decided to drop the Qualcomm-made units in favor of its own Exynos processors for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 as well as other upcoming devices, as the South Korean company does not wish to release its flagship with an overheating mainframe.
Tech Radar, however reports that there were no complaints regarding overheating since the release of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. It further stated that the problems faced by OnePlus Tech may possibly be related to the manufacturers and not just to the processor. If this is the fact and it's holding OnePlus Tech from launching its upcoming flagship smartphone, the company then may need to check the other components of its device too.
As far as OnePlus Tech is concerned, the Chinese company is said to be taking advantage of the delay to reintroduce its first 64-bit device with a small name change. According to Forbes, now the word "Two" in the device's name will not be spelled out, and the device will be henceforth called - OnePlus 2.
However, OnePlus Tech has yet to confirm these reports regarding the problems in its production like or the delay in launching OnePlus 2.
