'One Punch Man' Season 2 News & Rumors: Production In Work; New Episodes Airs Later This Year

With its production is already underway, fans of "One Punch Man" can expect the new episodes of the series to air later this year.

According to reports, the first phase of the production which basically involves the planning of storyboards, scenes and characters has already started. As directed by Mad Entertainment, the staff of the series came up with 100 sketches, 100 inked pages and 100 storyboards.

Last December, manga creator Yusuke Murata said in a statement that "One Punch Man" season 2 will be as good as season 1. He also expressed his excitement over the new chapter release of the manga version, entitled "Dark House Part III."

Part of the preparations for the production of the sequel is the creation of a new character who will match the strength of Saitama. Official spoilers for "One Punch Man" season 2 suggest that in the new episodes of the series, Saitama will have to deal with his most dangerous enemy named Garou. This tactician possesses superhuman abilities and has the power to think ahead of his opponent during war games. Spoilers also suggest that the only way for Saitama to knock him down is by maximizing all his powers.

Aside from the nature of Garou, other rumors spreading about season 2 is that the body of Saitama will be possessed by an evil force, causing him to thirst for power and forget about helping people.

The premiere date of "One Punch Man" season 2 has not been confirmed yet, but since production of the series is already ongoing, fans expect the popular anime to come out later this year. More details about the sequel will be revealed at the Anime Expo 2016, which will happen on July 4 to 6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
