‘One Direction’ Latest News: Popular English-Irish Pop Band Celebrates Five Years Together
Five years have lapsed since the formation of the famous English-Irish pop band group, One Direction. Even as the band members and their numerous fans have been celebrating their fifth anniversary, on Wednesday, singer Harry Styles has sent a special thank you message to everyone who he has worked with ever.
According to IB Times, Styles wrote on his Twitter page, "To you who support us, in any way, thank you. We wouldn't be here without you." The singer, with curly hair, also expressed his gratitude to "all the crew" that works with the band backstage. He thanked them for their individual efforts over the last five years. At the same time, the singer acknowledged that it is nearly impossible for him to express his gratitude for everyone. "We have been a band for five years. And it is impossible to thank anyone enough for all the support they have given us over this time..," he stated.
In addition, the hashtag #5YearsofOneDirection also became a trend on Twitter to celebrate the bigh milestone of the boy band's completing a successful half a decade. It all started five years ago when the band members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik appeared on the reality singing show 'The X-Factor' for the first time and were selected by their mentor Simon Cowell to form the boy band in London.
Since 2010, One Direction has undergone numberous changes. The once five-member band now comprises only four members, as singer Zayn Malik quit the band in March. According to reports, Malik is currently working on his solo album and still has a very loyal fan base of young girls - so do the other members of One Direction.
