Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Preview, Live Stream Link: How to Watch NBA Game Online
Despite being without the league's reigning MVP for a huge chunk of the season, losing their third best player to injury, and reshaping the roster midseason, the Oklahoma City Thunder's playoff hopes are still alive going into the final day of the regular season.
They need two things to go their way though to book a first round date with the league's best team"”take care of business on the road against the league's worst team, and for the New Orleans Pelicans to lose at home to one of the league's top teams. That's what it has come down to if the Thunder (44-37) who are tied with the Pelicans (who own the tie-breaker) are going to extend their season.
"We've put ourselves in this position, but at the same time, we've just got go out and take care of business and see what happens," said Russell Westbrook, who had a technical foul rescinded by the NBA, which allowed him to play in the Thunder's win against the Portland Trail Blazers Monday.
They will have a much easier task than the Pelicans, though, as they face a Timberwolves team that has a makeshift roster that's dropped 11 straight games. On the flipside, the Spurs will travel to New Orleans bringing with them their winning streak of 11 games.
"I ain't got to root for nobody. I ain't no Spurs fan," a defiant Westbrook replied when asked about wanting the Spurs to win.
While he may not be a fan, he will need to support San Antonio even just for a night if they're going to make it to the postseason, something teammate Dion Waiters has already embraced.
"I'm going to be a fan of the Spurs. I've never been to the playoffs. I'm hoping that they go in there and they play and they get a win, and we go handle our business," he said.
The Thunder visit the Timberwolves Wednesday. Tip-off is at 8:00 pm ET, check out the live stream link here.
