Office 2016 Release Date News: Leaks Suggest Microsoft to Release New Office Desktop Suite on Sept. 22
If latest reports are to be believed, Microsoft is gearing to release its new Office desktop suite, Office 2016, on Sept. 22. Although the Redmond-headquartered tech titan announced in July that it would be launching Office 2016 for Windows PC in September, it did not give a precise release date.
According to IB Times, Microsoft also announced then that it would make Office Mobile for Windows Phones available later in the fall. A latest report now hints that the Office 2016 is nearly ready and that Microsoft has already informed its employees internally regarding the public launch.
Meanwhile, German website WinFuture has obtained a leaked screenshot of Microsoft's intranet site. The website claims to have obtained the screenshot from an anonymous source in Microsoft, who suggested the launch date for Office 2016 as Sept, 22. Office 2016 would be first available for home and professional users, while it will take some more time to get the enterprise version ready.
The report by WinFuture states that the new Office suite is expected to cost £102 (about $161), whereas Office Home and Business 2016 would be around £176 (about $278). It further states that Office 2016 will incorporate updates for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, and Skype for Business, Project, Visio, Access as well as Publishers.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has already released Office 2016 for Mac in 139 countries and 16 languages worldwide in July, prior to launching the Office Mobile apps by July end.
