Oculus Rift Black Friday 2016 Deals, Latest News: Disappointing Offerings For VR Headset

The Oculus Rift was launched earlier this year but those looking for some good news on Black Friday 2016 deals will end up being disappointed.

Simply put, there's really not much on the Black Friday 2016 deals out there when it comes to the Oculus Rift.

According to this news article, the best deal you can get out of the Oculus Rift is a $100 store credit which you can use in the Oculus Store for games, accessories, add-ons or new worlds. The Microsoft Store is also offering a $100 gift code as part of the Black Friday 2016, but you can only use them for in-store purchases.

Best Buy, meanwhile, is selling the Oculus Rift at no discount for $599.99. Walmart and Target are also selling the VR headset for the same price.

In related news, SuperDataResearch released a projection about Oculus Rift selling 355,088 units by the end of this year. Those figures pale in comparison against the Google Daydream, which is projected to sell 450,083 units and the HTC Vive, which is seen to ship out 420,108 units.

The three VR headsets can even combine their totals and still won't catch up to the PS VR which is likely to roll out 2,602,307 units. No VR headset can really match the footprint of PS VR considering the 40 million PlayStation 4 units out there. There's also the fact that it's priced lower compared to the Rift and HTC.

Watch out for more news on the Oculus Rift, which we will report when any new information comes along.
