'No Man's Sky' Release Date News: Developer Assures Fans Despite Delayed Launch?

The recent news regarding "No Man's Sky" release date didn't really assure fans who have waited for a long time for the game to come to consoles.

Previously, Sean Murray has announced that the game will launch in mid-2016, but recently disappointed fans when he hinted of a delay in the release date.

"As we approached our final deadlines, we realised that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards," Sean Murray wrote in a blog. "I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special."

He did reveal that the game is coming along nicely and in fact, their "playtesters" have been playing "No Man's Sky" for quite some time now to gauge for gameplay and response.

Now, Hello Games is telling fans to check their PSN Check for a PSN mail regarding their pre-orders and if they don't respond to the email by June 16, their money will be refunded.

They can still opt back if they still want to play "No Man's Sky" in the new release date of Aug. 9 for the US, Aug. 10 for Europe and Aug. 12 for UK.

What got fans riled up, however, is the enclosed parenthesis in the announcements which says that "the game will release before Dec31st."

However, Sean Murray assured fans that they are still on target.

In his own Twitter, Sean Murray wrote, "Check for a PSN mail about your NMS pre-order (says the game will release before Dec31st). Don't stress. No date change! Just standard thing."
