Nintendo NX Rumors, News: Console Will Be Announced In September? Features Nvidia Tegra-Based SoC

In line with the highly anticipated gaming console, the Nintendo NX, it is rumored that it is set to be announced in September and will feature an Nvidia Tegra-based SoC.

According to VR World, the Nintendo NX might be unveiled in the Tokyo Game Show 2016, which is scheduled on Sept. 15. This speculation followed Nintendo's confirmation that its upcoming gaming console will not be unveiled at the E3 event this year.

While Nintendo has not given a comment as to when it will announce the Nintendo NX, it is assumed that the September announcement is not far from happening, as Nintendo first unveiled the Wii, the firm's most successful gaming console, at the Tokyo Game Show way back in 2005, as per Gaming Bolt.

In other news, the Nintendo NX is also rumored to use the Nvidia Tegra-based SoC, according to Semi Accurate. As per the publication, the Nvidia group was asked to get a console win whatever happens. In addition, Nintendo reportedly secured a highly favorable agreement, which leads to a win for the Nvidia group.

Nintendo head Tatsumi Kimishima also shared his inputs about the company's forthcoming device. In a statement, as cited by Nintendo Life, Kimishima said that the NX was neither the successor to the Wii U nor to the 3DS, adding that it was a new way of playing games, which he thought would have a bigger impact than the Wii U. But for the Nintendo head, he did not feel that it was a full replacement for the Wii U.

Overall, fans have to wait until Nintendo introduces the Nintendo NX in September. The console is assumed to be released in Mar. 2017.
