Nintendo NX Release Date, Specs, Rumors, News: Game Device Will Have Smartphone Connectivity?
While fans are scouring the Internet for any rumors on the release date for the Nintendo NX, the news reports from official sources have been scarce.
The rumors, according to CNET, point to the release date of the Nintendo NX at the E3 event in Los Angeles this June; and there are reports about the gaming tech launching first a mobile version before unveiling the console.
"About the only thing we know for sure is that Nintendo has its own way of doing things, and that the conventional industry playbook will probably not apply to the launch of the NX," it said.
But the speculations started last year about Nintendo starting the manufacture of the NX console in October 2015, through a collaboration with Foxconn Electronics, quoting a report from the Taiwanese website, Digitimes.
According to the rumors, the mass production for the Nintendo NX was supposed to start in May or June this year, which should put the release date past the E3 event.
Meanwhile, a Reddit post by Untyped Hero claimed to have grabbed hold of the rumored specs for the Nintendo NX.
Among the specs is the x86 architecture, additional screen support, ports for current-gen games, smart phone connectivity, as well as a backup data linking to the Nintendo server.
"This is second-hand information from trusted sources (like last time) and I have little reason to doubt its validity," the poster added.
For now, however, these reports surrounding the Nintendo NX can be chucked to mere rumors in the absence of confirmation from the company.
