Nintendo NX Release Date News, Rumors: No Announcement At E3 2016 Event; Remains Secretive About Console?
Nintendo NX is not expected to be unveiled during the E3 and, meanwhile, the Japanese tech firm continues to play coy amid all the rumors surrounding the console.
Before he passed away, Satoru Iwata confirmed that the console will be a "brand new concept," which he described as a "dedicated game platform ... "under the development codename NX."
There's a lot of news and rumors surrounding the Nintendo NX but no details have come out of from the Japanese company.
Around December last year, the company filed a patent application for a free-form display with a touch screen that runs across the whole hand-held device. There are also buttons and thumbsticks at the top of the console. But it's not clear that the patent is related to the planned Nintendo NX.
"It's important to note, however, this is just a patent and not confirmation that Nintendo will be incorporating this technology into a future platform," IGN noted.
There are also rumors about the Nintendo NX having the capability to support VR technology.
According to initial talks, one of the reasons for the delay in the release date for Nintendo NX was due to the VR-support technology not being ready yet.
But Nintendo Enthusiast pointed to the trailer for the "Riverside" released by Zockrates Laboratories as proof that the rumors about Nintendo NX and VR capability may have some ground to hold on to.
While the report about the title being developed for Nintendo NX should give fans reason to be excited, "What makes this situation so surprising is that the game is also in development for a VR platform," the website said.
