Nintendo NX Release Date News: No New Information About Upcoming Console Until 2016
Nintendo, the Japanese multinational consumer electronics company, was quite serious when it announced that it will not offer any information regarding its upcoming gaming console till next year. This was reiterated by Nintendo's America chief Reggie Fils-Amie at the Digital Event this week.
According to Christian Post, the company introduced the Nintendo NX, its upcoming dedicated gaming platform in development, in an event in March where Nintendo discussed about developing its future to one that would be filled with smartphone games. While the March event involved mobile-related plans, Nintendo did not overlook the dedicated game systems and, therefore, revealed the NX.
Apart from launching the new game console, Nintendo also announced its partnership with DeNA, a Japanese mobile gaming company, for a new membership service, "which encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, the new hardware system with a brand-new concept, NX, and smart devices and PCs."
The new membership system will be a replacement for Club Nintendo. The company hopes to end later this year. According to some reports, Nintendo is currently working on a bigger and better Nintendo, which is expected to be launched in 2016.
While the Nintendo NX may not possibly be at the center of the company's plans, but the slew of games to be released by the company in 2015 suggests that it is preparing more colossal titles for the upcoming Nintendo NX. This year, the company mostly concentrated on making the 3DS owners happy.
At the company's press conference on the occasion of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 in Los Angeles, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto emphasized that the focus of the company now is on what it has to offer, including 'The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes,' 'Star Fox Zero' and a new 'Fire Emblem,' among others.
