Nintendo NX Release Date News, Rumors: March 2017 Release Is Confirmed? Fake Controller Being Sold For $10K?

Despite the mystery surrounding the Nintendo NX, recent rumors and news reports have pointed to a March 2017 release date for the console.

According to Tech Radar, the poor showing of the Wii U forced the hand to Nintendo to release its next-gen console.

The company sent out a press statement that read, "For our dedicated video game platform business, Nintendo is currently developing a gaming platform codenamed 'NX' with a brand-new concep. NX will be launched in March 2017 globally."

The Wii U has so far been a disappointment for Nintendo after shipping only over 12 million units compared to the Wii which sold 100 million units. In fact, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima already owned up most of the blame for the paltry sales.

There are rumors going around the Nintendo NX could be the first foray of the company into VR technology, but no official news channels have confirmed this as yet.

In other news, WCCF Tech reported that a fake controller of the Nintendo NX is actually listed in eBay for $10,000.

The images for the fake controller actually surfaced months ago, but the source off the the leak already confirmed that they are bogus.

But the new report pointed out that the fake Nintendo NX controller images found their way to eBay being peddled as a replica with a starting bid price of $4,000. Supposedly, according to the poster, there are only five such replicas in the world.
