Nintendo has been working on a new gaming platform and have been quiet about it since the day it started. Fans now speculate that the Nintendo NX may be more than just a traditional console made for home entertainment like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox consoles.

Nintendo assures us that they will release new information about this new project this year. Koei Tecmo President and CEO Yoichi Erikawa said that it is with high probability that this new gaming device will be a console made for home use.

"Actually, I think that it'll start doing much better. The PlayStation 4 has recently surpassed 2 million units in nationwide sales, and Nintendo announced a new 'machine' called the NX. From this point forward, I believe that each company will make clear commitments for these machines," Erikawa said according to Siliconera.

While Erikawa's insights doesn't rule out the possibilities of a hybrid device that can have the features of both home console and portable gaming system, it seems that it likely won't be the same stuff that their competitors have already done. 

It might be a difficult decision to make because in today's era, we have seen the rise of mobile devices and the technology that exists today innovating these products, making it more powerful, in just a span of months. Though the traditional home console may always win in the memory storage, graphics and gameplay category, portability - the ability to play the game wherever you are will always be the best selling point for mobile video games.
