Nintendo New Mobile Games News: Video Game Developer to Produce 5 Smart Device Titles

Nintendo, the juggernaut game developer, has recently announced a partnership with DeNA, in order to create mobile games.

The company announced its first plan, after a meeting today with some of the company's investors.

Satoru Iwata, the president of Nintendo, announced that five games will be released by March 2017, although no further details were released.

"We aim to make each title a hit and operate every one of them for a significant amount of time after their releases," said Iwata, "This is not a small number at all and should demonstrate our serious commitment to the smart device business."

Before this point in time, Nintendo did not plan to begin developing mobile games for its users, but apparently, the company has decided that it is time to do so.

Iwata stated that smart devices are beginning to take on a much more significant role as the platform through which consumers connect.

He says that for this reason, it is only natural that Nintendo should use the same platform with which to connect to their consumers.

The company made the deal with DeNA this March, shortly after which they promised fans new and original games.

What this means is that there will not be any rebooting or porting of previous Nintendo games, which we have often seen throughout the years. The new titles will have unique game characters.

Nintendo also plans for expansion using a membership service that will span across multiple devices, linking them all, including smartphones and game consoles.

It will cover gadgets including the 3DS, smart devices, PC, Wii U, and the NX system which is coming soon.
