Nintendo Direct April 2015 Highlights, Recap: Latest Announcements about New Titles, Consoles, DLC [VIDEO]
Many exciting things were revealed regarding the future plans and releases from the Japanese multinational consumer electronics company at the latest Nintendo Direct event.
According to Christian Today, the latest Nintendo Direct was a 48-minute video stream, during which the gaming company discussed about what fans can expect from it during the ensuing months. According to the company, its forthcoming offerings will include the latest updates on Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros., in addition to the latest inclusions for Wii U Virtual Console.
Some of the news highlights from April's Nintendo Direct live stream update are given below:
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS
Nintendo announced some of forthcoming update releases for the Smash Bros. DLC. Among them is the upcoming release of Pokémon Mewtwo in April itself. Players who have managed to register the game with Club Nintendo before March end will be able to receive the DLC for free by April 15. On the other hand, players who failed register in March will still be able to purchase the character on April 28.
The Japanese gaming company will also include another character in the roster of fighters for Super Smash Bros in June, after it releases fan-favorite Lucas of 'Mother 3's.'
In addition, the update 1.0.6 with several important bug fixes and improvements will also be unveiled very soon.
Amiibo
Nintendo has announced that it will introduce a new set of Amiibo for Super Smash Bros. series on May 29, which will include several popular characters like PAC-MAN, Charizard, Jigglypuff, Wario, Greninja, Lucina, Robin, and Ness. Subsequently, in July, the company will include Dark Pit and Palutena in the game, whereas Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, Olimar, Dr. Mario and Bowser Jr will be included in September.
In addition, Nintendo will unveil a very different form of Amiibo this fall. The form of Amiibo will come in as a card and be called "Amiibo Card." The initial characters that will be released in this form will be based on the characters from Animal Crossing. It will be in harmony with the 'Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer' game.
Indie releases
During the Nintendo Direct, the company also talked about the most recent indie games for the Nintendo consoles. These indie games include the 'Adventures of Pip' from Tic Toc Games, 'Don't Starve: Giant Edition' from Klei Entertainment, 'Mutant Mudds Super Challenge' from Renegade Kid, as well as 'Octodad: Dadliest Catch' from Young Horses, Inc.
