Nintendo 3DS News Update: Another Character For ‘Yoshi’s Wooly World’ Arriving To Handheld In 2017

Most of the news out of Nintendo these days that's creating any kind of buzz is the upcoming Nintendo NX, but that doesn't prevent Nintendo 3DS from announcing new titles for 2017.

In the latest reports, there's a new addition to "Yoshi's Wooly World" and that's Poochy the dog. However, while the game itself was originally designed for the Wii U, it's being modified to be compatible with the Nintendo 3DS.

Additionally, there's another game in the Pikmin series, described as a "side-scrolling action platformer," which is also coming to the handheld device in 2017. Currently there's no title attached to the game.

Earlier it was reported that "Super Mario Maker" would be launched for the Nintendo 3DS on Dec. 2 this year.

Meanwhile, Nintendo Life suggests that Nintendo's focus right now appear to be on the NX, and that any new titles on its other devices are coming out as an addition. What's clear at this point is the near-death of the Wii U, which has been slumping in terms of sales. The Wii U's fate will only be sealed with the release of the Nintendo NX, pundits believe.

The website also reports that "Super Mario Maker" for Nintendo 3DS, unlike the Wii U, will have no online level uploads. However, users can search levels just like on the Wii U. It's speculated that this change won't make much of a difference considering that most 3DS owners don't have Wii U so they have no basis of comparison in terms of gaming experience.
