However, Dobrev and Zedd's ex, Selena Gomez, age 22, have been close friends for several years, so many are shocked to see that Dobrev is hanging out with her friend's ex.

An exclusive insider report to HollywoodLife reveals that the two are no more than friends. "They are friends right now mostly because of different fears," said the source. "Zedd thinks Nina ... would date her in a heartbeat. A few things are holding stuff back. He is scared to be in the tabloids again and she doesn't want to upset Selena."

A lot of fans agree on the fact that it is probably better that the two remain friends.

Gomez and Dobrev, the former star of The Vampire Diaries have been best friends for a long time, and fans do not think that is worth throwing away over a guy.
