Nicki Minaj & Taylor Swift News: Was a Twitter Feud Avoided Between the Two Artists?

While the fans might have thought that things between female artists Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift might lead in a nasty cat fight on social media, the two have handled the situation calmly and in a classy way using their communication skills to good use.

Just a few moments ago, when Minaj posted a very powerful message on Twitter regarding the MTV VMAs nominations writing, "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," she wrote which fans later on speculated to be directly about Swift. "Oh but trust me. I'll be on that stage to collect my awards for vid of the year. Feeling Myself & Anaconda."

Apparently, Swift's name came up right away since she famously had a video for her 'Bad Blood' single with a lot of her female model friends on it. And with Swift being very active on social media, she immediately noticed Minaj's post and responded.

"@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you," Swift wrote directing the message to the 'Anaconda' singer about her recent post. "It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot," Swift added.

Then, Minaj was quick to deny that the post had anything to do with her and that it was about a bigger picture on racism in the music industry. "Huh? U must not be reading my tweets," Minaj then tweeted adding, "Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @TaylorSwift13."

Minaj, thinking that her explanation wasn't clear enough again posted another message on her social media site saying, "Nothing I said had to do with Taylor. So what jabs," Minaj wrote adding, "White media and their tactics. So sad. That's what they want."

Minaj even posted another message on Instagram, since Twitter was limiting the message that she wanted to shout out. The tweets had "nothing to do with any of the women, but everything to do with a system that doesn't credit black women for their contributions to pop culture as freely/quickly as they reward others," Minaj posted on Instagram Wednesday. "We are huge trendsetters, not second class citizens that get thrown crumbs."

And so of course, two highly educated and well respected women settle their almost feud well with Swift ending it inviting Minaj on stage if indeed she ever won the Video of the Year. "@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!!" she posted on Twitter adding, "You're invited to any stage I'm ever on."
