Nicki Minaj, 32, dropped a potential bombshell at her August 8th concert in Burgettstown, Penn, part of the Pinkprint Tour, by calling her fiancé Meek Mill her "baby father."

In a characteristically demonstrative announcement, Nicki yelled, "Make some noise for my baby father!"

Meek accepted the crowd's screaming adulation by throwing up his hands and beaming.

Minaj and Meek have never been shy about displaying their affections for each other since they started dating.

During the Pinkprint Tour they have been hot and heavy on stage, and on August 7th Nicki cheekily shared a picture of Meek's hand on her butt.

With the couple so obviously in love, this might be the natural next step.

Neither Nicki nor Meek confirmed nor denied the speculations at the time, although Nicki further fueled the rumors by replying with lots of tears of joy emojis to the video tweet of her 'announcement'.

The rumors were recently dispelled, however, by sources close to her.

They say Nicki uses the term 'baby father' as a loving nickname, but it doesn't indicate 'father of my child'.

Although the couple do want children, they plan to tie the knot first, it has been said.

The possible good news was a nice distraction from the recent drama that the couple has been embroiled in, with Meek and Drake, Nicki's close friend, locked in one of rap's biggest feuds in recent years.

The falling out was sparked by Meek accusing Drake of not writing original material, and has prompted both rappers to release diss tracks against each other.

Nicki has stood by her man throughout the drama, although she's reportedly not been happy about the fight.

A source of Hollywood Life's staff said that "They've both put in too much time and effort and hard work on making their relationship work."
