Rapper Nicki Minaj is in the running for three awards at the upcoming 2015 MTV Video Music Awards after the list of nominees were recently announced. But while, the "Anaconda" singer expressed gratitude for the recognition, she wasn't completely thrilled, and took to Twitter to express her opinions.

"Hey guys @MTV thank you for my nominations [kisses emoji] Did Feeling Myself miss the deadline or"¦?" Minaj initially tweeted.

She followed it up with a series of tweets pointing to her perceived lack of nominations. "If I was a different "kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well. [grinning emojis]"

"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year [grinning emojis]," she then dropped.

Coincidentally, Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood" music videos got nine nominations. "Anaconda" got two (Best Hip Hop Video and Best Female Video). Minaj also received a nomination for "Bang Bang" along with Jessie J and Ariana Grande for Best Collaboration.

As noted by an Us Weekly report, Minaj also retweeted several fan complaints about the perceived snubs, with some pointing out how "Anaconda" broke the Vevo record for most views in a 24-hour-period.

Nominees for Video of the Year include Swift, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar.

After the series of tweets, Swift took offense to the one with the reference to slim bodies, tweeting "@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.."

After Minaj denied targeting Swift with her tweets and writing "I love u just as much," Swift responded, "@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on."

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on Aug. 30 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
