NHL Playoffs 2015 News: Odds, Standings, Bracket Predictions and Updated TV Schedule
So far, in the National Hockey League playoffs, only two of the eight round series have yet to produce a winner. It is likely that by the end of play on Monday, the full second round field will be determined.
There are two pairings which are scheduled for Monday night, one of them Game 7 and the other Game 6.
Based on the way that the series has been going so far, there is going to be seven games. The teams have been taking turns winning over the first five games. The Detroit Red Wings were able to achieve 1-0 and 2-1 leads before the Tampa Bay Lightning got a hold of themselves.
The Red Wings have been approaching the Lightning in an efficient way and that was one of the key features in Game 5.
The only team that is allowing less goals per game than the Red Wings through the first round of the playoffs, is the New York Rangers, so far. This is the team that ranked first in terms of scoring.
This leads sports analysts to believe that the Red Wings will be ending the series. They have been the better team and they probably would have advanced already if it was not for the fact that they gave up two goals in the third period of the fourth game.
The New York Islanders, on the other hand, has not been able to convert any of its chances thus far.
This series is a tight one, and three games have been decided by one single goal. Any team that does not capitalize on its man advantages will be seeing an early exit.
