'NHL 17' Cover News: St. Louis Blue Vladimir Taranseko Wins Vote For Cover Athlete
Along with its availability for digital pre-order, it is revealed that St. Louis Blue Vladimir Taranseko is set to be the cover athlete for EA Sports' "NHL 17."
Taranseko won the vote for the "NHL 17" cover, following his win against San Jose Sharks' Joe Pavelski in the final round, Yahoo Sports has learned. As per the publication, the former managed to obtain six million votes and become the athlete who obtained the highest number of votes, among other ballots done on NHL and Twitter.
According to the official NHL website, the result of the votes was announced during the 2016 NHL Awards in Las Vegas. In a statement, as cited by the publication, Taranseko said that it was an incredible honor to represent his teammates and all the Blues fans around the world on the cover this year.
Taranseko also said that as a player, it was a big deal to be fan selected for something like the cover vote, adding that he was excited to be involved in the game this year.
In other news, "NHL 17" is now available for digital pre-order and pre-download on Xbox One, Major Nelson has learned. As per the publication, players can now pre-download the title; however, they cannot play the game until its release in September.
It is further revealed that "NHL 17" is set to have three versions. The Standard Edition includes the full game, one month EA access, an EASHL bundle, and one gold pack per week times ten weeks. The Deluxe Edition covers the game, one month of EA access, EASHL bundle, and a Gold Plus pack every week for 25 weeks. Then, the Super Deluxe Edition has the full game, a month of EA Access, an EASHL bundle, and two Gold Plus packs per week times 25 weeks.
