Seattle Seahawks NFL Trade Rumors 2015: Michael Bennett Looking to Join the Atlanta Falcons?

Even though he still has three years left on his four year contract, rumor has it that NFL defensive end Michael Bennett is seeking a trade from the Seattle Seahawks to the Atlanta Falcons.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Bennett wants to switch up his contract, possibly for his potential move to Atlanta sometime this year. However, some sources report that the trade is pure speculation.

Bennett and representatives have yet to officially say whether or not the trade is true.

The four-year contract Bennett signed was for $28.5 million after winning the Super Bowl in 2013. Now that he has made a name for himself, it looks like Bennett wants to sweeten the deal with another potential team.

Another reason why Bennett could be wanting to trade with the Falcons is because former Seattle defensive coordinator and current Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn could put in a good word for him. Quinn is already looking at improving the Falcons' defensive line as he has signed on Adrian Clayborn, O'Brien Schofield and Paul Poliai.

According to HNGN, the Falcons finished last season second-to-last in the league in sack with just 22 for the year. Bennett finished last season with seven sacks, 38 tackles, one forced fumble and 11 stuffs in 16 games in the regular season.

Bennett first arrived on the NFL scene in April 2009 when the Seattle Seahawks signed him on when he was an undrafted free agent. The team waived him in November that same year and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked him up. In 2013, Bennett was back on the Seattle team.

Whether or not Bennett will officially be leaving the Seahawks team has yet to be determined.
