NFL Injury 2015 News: Randall Cobb, Bryan Bulaga, Micah Hyde & More
After losing wide receiver Jordy Nelson to a season-ending knee injury, the Green Bay Packers held their breath as Randall Cobb suffered a shoulder injury against the Philadelphia Eagles. The good news for now, as reported by Shutdown Corner, is that a broken collarbone has been ruled out, but the severity of the injury is yet to be determined.
Apart from Cobb, offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga (ankle) and safety-corner-return man Micah Hyde (neck) also left the same game with injuries.
Other injuries as reported by Shutdown Corner include Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey, who suffered a left knee injury. He is scheduled to have an MRI, but is said to be optimistic about not missing a game.
New York Jets first round pick Leonard Williams suffered a knee injury. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that X-rays came back negative, and that Williams has a bone bruise. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined beyond that. As noted by Shutdown Corner, the Jets can ill-afford to lose Williams for a significant period, with Sheldon Richardson already scheduled to miss the first four games due t suspension.
San Diego Chargers quarterback left the game after receiving a hit on his throwing hand. He did not return to the game, but was seen on the sidelines with the hand wrapped up. Shutdown Corner reports that Rivers said he could have gotten back into the game if he wanted to.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback likewise left the game against the Chicago Bears with what appeared to be a neck injury. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, though, said his quarterback was "fine."
Other injuries include those to defensive tackles Timmy Jernigan of the Baltimore Ravens and Eddie Goldman of the Bears. It was reported that second-year player Jernigan suffered a knee injury, while Goldman came out with a concussion.
There was no further word on their return.
